My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  4. As a retired machinist I can certainly appreciate the fine German workmanship.

  5. Might have to replace my block of wood with a nice stand… Both look like they're great quality and I like the clamp/vice like feature.

  6. Love the craftsmanship of the Germans,Amazing giveaways Mr.Bill. You're the tops. It's to bad the taller one dose not unscrew at the base,or where the rubber o rings are so you can
flip it around. Easy fix tho.I Thank you for some of the best give aways ever Mr.Bill

  7. Here in America, we mount our locks the way we do for a couple of reasons. One is that gunk and debris, and perhaps even water, can in fact pool and get pushed down into the chambers in the upside down position. Another reason is that if a spring breaks, or there is a mechanical issue with the lock, gravity would push the pins down overriding a spring, provided it moves freely.
