(1145) Galaxy Lock from Accurate Locksmithing

My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. Nice video Bill, I kinda figured that this lock was just not meant to come apart, those internal clips are a dead end!

  2. Found these guys, http://www.carkeysale.com/wholesale/tubular-pick-tool-3pcs-for-one-package.html
To hold in the central detent you could use a strip of steel say 1/2" wide and make a sled to hold the centre bar in place, if its on the door you can make a bridge that allows the detent to be depressed against it as you pick the lock.
The captive ring that is pressed into the main body and secures the front section of the barrel can be removed by drilling two holes that are level with it, one either side, then you could depress the ring and remove the front section without destroying the lock itself and being brass you can re-braze it again.
The main body being brass is this locks weak point, you could make a core cutter the same size as the front piece and drill it out around the key support.

    1. Maybe.. but the lock is just not worth all this trouble! You only need to look inside one of them to know that if they ever screw up save the valuable time and just replace them. Time is $$, huge $$$ for some people. 🙂
