  1. Hi bill! I'm new to lock picking just started looking into and found your vids 2 days ago and love them. Question… Was wondering, if you find a new lock that you've never seen before and don't know how it works and don't have the key to see the biting, is it possible or even worth it to try picking it or would you be wasting your time just trying to get lucky. Also FYI I have made my own pick and tension bar out of paper clips and been practicing on an old master lock I have…. I can't believe it works! Been able to open dozens of times. And it's all thanks to your vids.

  2. The reason why these are almost impossible to find outside of Europe: Their parent company, Sécuridev, will not do business outside of Europe.

  3. Nice Bill.  I have a DOM lock too.  It came off of a jail cell door from back in the day.  It has the IX on there as well but the key is out of this world compared to yours.  I'll have to post a pic of it to see if anyone can tell me more about it.  If you put the key in one way it opens in only one direction.  If you take the key out and flip it upside down and re-insert it then the key turns in both directions.  I don't understand.

  4. Sure, disassembling things is never a problem for me. It is REassembling them that gives me trouble… I'm sure if I took this lock apart it would never get back together right… If you want to see the details, look in Pulver's book "High Security Locks", it details the complex innards.

  5. Nicely done bill! I have some more EVIL stuff here waiting for you. I just visited my locksmith and he had a lot of old/new and old good condition stuff for you to pick. He also has lots more Pafeffenhain cylinders like the Integral and others but I could not afford everything. There will be enough challenges waiting for you though and I will try to get you a Dom IX Saturn one day, the ultimate challenge!
