My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. the ball bearing was for construction keying, after the proper operating key is inserted then that ball would fall into that hole adjacent to the 6th chamber on the plug thus rendering the 'construction' key obsolete.

  2. Hi Bill, I  think that the ball was at the bottom of the last (6) keypin. Usually used with key pins to minimise wear but maybe Texas Jim just ran out of key pins or he thought that it would give a different feel to that chamber, possibly encourage you to over set as you would still feel the ball if the key pin was binding. Would you like some locks from Australia?

  3. Nice job bill.  I was reading the comments below and am saddened to hear about Dan Morris problems. He does make great picks for sure.

  4. I have watched most of your videos as well as afdkoas, and some others. I made some picks to just try and understand the concept. I bought some old master locks to practice on. I opened all of them in less than 1 minute on my first try. Wow! they are really bad.

  5. Thanks for the videos, I'm just learning to pick and starting with some master locks. Your videos are a great help and I will continue to watch, thank again Mike D

  6. I am taking a course in locksmithing and would appreciate any locks you might want to send my way.  My email is " cobhouse@hotmail.com".   Have been watching your vids on lockpicking.  Have been very helpful in learning about lockpicking.  Thank you very much.

  7. Nice picking. Lost you email address Bill but since winter is over and I have several cylinders clattering my van bench I should have a box to send out soon.
There will be some Evil cylinders also

  8. Bill,
I am still around and working as fast as I can to get up and running. As Jim stated I lost everything in my divorce and am just now able to start making picks again. If anyone is still interested in some please drop me a line I should have my shop set up in two weeks and I will post to my channel shortly with an update. Bill I sent you a email.
Thank you all for your continued support.

  9. Great pickin Bill. I think Dan Morris has been off the net for awhile taking care of a personal problem (divorce). Spoke with him a few months back about ordering a few picks and he said they are not available at this time because of the divorce & wife getting his tools/equipt to make the picks.
