My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. What do you think of the picking guns, I have mostly mastered the traditional picks – would you recommend trying a pick gun or are they useless. They look a bit cumbersome to me. Cheers – Great Channel !

  2. Well.. This lock looks like evil itself. Or well.. Almost as bad as the Medeco on my front door. I do not like the bidding, and the lock doesn't like lockpickers. At all.

  3. I lost all my tension tools, any ideas where I could find info on buying just tension tools in the UK?  Everywhere I've found so far either sells sets with picks or individual tools, and I really could do with a variety!!

  4. Excellent picking as usual bill. if no one seems to be brave enough, I will step forward take on this new challenge lock! Let me know, if you still have it.

  5. Hey Bill!

AFAIK the profile-insert is just for key control (measure against illegal copying of keys). The ALS is just an improved Evva GPI – however, I think it's quite a shelf-warmer. Greetings from Austria (home of Evva :P)

  6. Since watching your videos I've been able to pop a few locks and any time somebody sees my fiddling with my picks I get the strangest looks but keep up the good work ps I hate masters lockout lock

  7. so glad your doing one of these and have trouble too as i have one on my front door and its one of the most annoying locks i have picked, its that bloody warding lol , and make that 5 bdubs fans lol

  8. The metal insert inbetween pins 4 & 5 is to alter the keyway profile (hence the extra milling towards the top of the key). I don't think it is also for drill resistance.

The profile plate enables sectional master keying.

  9. As much as I like seeing challenge locks, it's also neat to see what manufacturers who care about security are coming up with. Cool lock, great picking.

  10. Nice pickin'!  I don't see how you hit pin 5, AND set it, with that key gate in front of it. You think the deep grooves in the key at the tip is to guide it thru the warding and the gate?

  11. I rarely comment but I love your videos. Great job on this lock. This key way really would have intimidated me, but watching you do it has raised my confidence and I know with a bit of patience and time I can do it too some day.

    Thank you.
