My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. that is the standard type of lock in just about every door in norway. that one seems to be with a "system key" used in a bigger company with more then one key fitting as you where talking about with the 4 double shear lines.

  2. now if only the brass pin had serrations… and perhaps a inner locking pin like on flywheels master piece so if you have it pushed up to the right spot there is an inner pin that needs to be pushed up just right too…

  3. great work Bill but I cant take credit for the Trio Ving its not from me. the Assa scd is the one I sent you….you have not opened it yet? I would love to know what makes that lock so hard. there's nothing in it!!!

  4. I am not a lock guy. I am a machinist by trade. I have to say I am very impressed with you work and your video is great. Thanks for sharing with us. I enjoy swing how the rest of the world does things. You are a good lock smith and a very good teacher. Thank you for your time and sharing your trade. James in Texas

  5. Does anyone know if Schlage everest key cuts different than SC4 Key cuts? Meaning if the SC4 Key were to be cut by using the everest key code on key would they have the same bitting heights and Depths?

  6. I was just wondering if you'll ever do a video on a smartkey padlock. Im curious to know if they can be picked without any brute force ive seen a couple videos on em but most are using screwdrivers to break em or something. Anyway great videos keep it up

  7. I've been watching your videos for two days straight since finding your channel. Now I want to get into lock picking. Would this be a good set to start with? http://www.sparrowslockpicks.com/kick_start_p/s-0.htm

Edit: If I had taken the time to expand the video description I would have seen you already have a video about building your first set. I will go watch that now and try not to feel like a dumbass for asking a question that has already been answered.

  8. Most houses and workplaces in norway uses trioving locks, and to get full insurance on your stuff you need to have key holes on both sides if there is a window in or around the door. Ppl with fully wooden/metal doors with no window beside or above can choose to not have a key on the inside. And the locks usaly cost over 100 dollars just for the part you picked

  9. Bill, I want to send you a lock that I accidentally… broke? It has no pins or springs, but I was wondering if you would want it to pin up and send out.

  10. Okay, so I've just been watching your videos for about a week or so now because I find it really interesting to watch you pick locks. Out of sheer curiosity, I got myself two bobby pins and managed to pick my first lock!
Though it was one of those kinda common master locks, I just wanted to say thanks and I couldn't have done it without watching your videos.

  12. I purchased my first picks today. My first lock was an old keyed entry. I'm having trouble feeling the pins and the warding is really in the way, for me at least, but I was able to bitch pick it with 3 different picks. I originally got into all of this because I have an older front door with an original lock. I'm hoping to get good enough to unlock it and then repin it I enjoy your vids and pass on warnings to Master lock owners daily…. Zip tie…lol.

  13. TrioVing's are nasty from the vids I have seen great work buddy I want a challenge lock from you one day. To see how tough you can make them.. Great job and keep it up

  14. I have been watching your videos for a while now and really enjoy this channel.  I just realized that my adblock has been on this whole time.  Do you earn money to support your habit from these videos?  If so then I will gladly turn off my adblock when watching your videos.

  15. hey bill, I was wondering if it is difficult to get into the locksmith business. Ive tried picking and have enjoyed it so much. And your videos have been so inspirational and fun. Thanks for the awesome videos.

  16. Hey Bill Whats goin on buddy, I've watched many of your videos and really enjoy them. I myself am a locksmith in texas. I noticed near the end of the video you mentioned you were gonna reload that sucker with some alien technology and "Send it to the next guy". I was kinda hoping I could be that next guy. PM me for info.

P.S I'd like to get me one of those top of the keyway tension wrenches I've seen you with. Small and large. Those would come in handy big time in my everyday. WEIRD angles. frustrating…. Thanks for the great videos man. keep it up.

  17. Hey Bill, I wanted to ask you, how do I get to be the next guy on the list? I'm starting to amass a bucket of locks I've picked and I'm hoping to trade for some new ones, to keep practicing. Is there a community or something where I can trade locks around, or is this just something you ended up putting together?

For example, I've got a Mul-T Lock C Series that's my first dimple lock (and my first PIP) and once I crack this thing I want to get it out of my sight. I got it from a pawnshop owner, it came with no key and the shackle was out of it, so he just gave it to me. I've taken it apart and know it should work. After I'm done with it I was hoping to trade it for something a little less insane. I've spent 2 weeks on it and I'm far too new at picking to comfortably do this level of lock.

I also might get into making challenge locks. I enjoy metal working, but I've rarely done something as small as pins. I think it could be interesting and I'd love to spread those into the community someday.

  18. How can I get on your list also.  I have a lock giving me a lot of trouble.   could I send it to you for you to open.  im at the point i think my picks just cant open it. haha.  I have a basic set of picks.
P.S I would love to try some locks with cool stuff inside them.  But I cannot find a store that sells any were I live.
