My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. Love you sure..learning a lot.Started out with sparrows bypass took.last week got my sparrows kick start pack..love it.My problem is with tensioning. My right thumb is partially paralyzed and gets painful and it tires out easily to where it does not work very well.Would you have any suggestions on alternative ways to tension. One really left handed. So you think a circular tension would work for me.I appreciate any tips you could give me.

  2. I have a bunch of old Emhart knob sets. I have chucked lesser cores in a drill and put grooves in them, and dropped in ONE single Emhart pin and the lock is pretty much unpickable, to all but the more skilled pickers. A small knife file lays in the angle on the key. I will be amazed if Bill cannot pick this now that he knows what is inside it. You can spin these pins around, but it is a royal pain in the butt. Two .012″ or .015″ hooks side by side can spin a pin. I filed my own picks to rotate these. Emharts go back a little ways. You don’t hardly see them much anymore. I am seeing more and more Mul-T & Medico on high security locations now. SMP had a Medico on one end of the gate pin, and a Sesame combo on the other, but when they shut that gate for more than the usual reasons another Medico goes on. There is still an old Master lock on an almost forgotten secondary gate off in the bushes. The transmitting site has Mul T locks, and a Mul T Lock gate complete with that funky Caduceus looking cutout in the plates on the iron gate. The springs, hinges, hardware, etc. are all made by Mul T. The FCC, FBI, Homeland Suckurity, and other members of the government alphabet soup group were all over the place during the Super Bowl. The government protected the broadcasting revenues more than they did the fans.

  3. Your Multi-Lock is actually a gate lock. The original was made by Welsh Gate lock and came in single or double sided. They also came with a spring loaded latch for hinged doors or a spring loaded hook bolt for sliding doors.

    1. I just saw a gate with the Mul T logos cut into push plates on it. It was up at a big broadcast transmitter site, on a mountain top. It was the rear gate. The front gate is automated, & opens with an RFI encoded badge, or a call to the security office. All the RTVB stuff falls under the Homeland Stupidity umbrella now. Heaven forbid someone blows up all the TV transmitters. What WILL all the people in the ghetto too poor to afford cable or satellite TV watch? I think the government is afraid if they go two days without Gilligan’s Island reruns they may start thinking again. LOL

  4. I’m about to retire after 26 years in LE and was thinking of starting a new career. I’ve always been interested in locks and thought I had some sort of clue as to what was involved in being a locksmith…boy, talk about self-deluded individuals! The more I see of your wonderful videos, the depths of my ignorance. Big fan, please keep those videos coming! Thanks.

  5. I really like to stay away from to much of the visual stuff, as it frequently confuses what my pick feels and what I have visualized. It is a communication kind of thing, like Braille. I need to let the lock to tell me what is going on inside.

  6. Coincidence! I only just yesterday looked at some LOCKLAB LOCKSTUFF UNIVERSITY CUTAWAYS videos and had a nightmare about the cutaway lock of a Corbin Russwin Emhart from l0ckcr4ck3r and then it came true! Great stuff Bill! Thank you!
