My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. Bill, This lock cylinder is adjustable for length. The screw on the back should have allowed the entire outer “sleeve” to back off the center. The screw must have been stripped out. These were popular when very thick custom doors were also popular in large (expensive!) homes. I have run into many on doors made in the late 1800’s through the 1930’s, in affluent neighborhoods of that time.

  2. Sorry but am kinda ..okay I am laughing. If you haven't seen one before it is obviously baffling. It is an adjustable length cylinder and by turning that screw it Should drive the threaded shell off and you can get to recognizable parts. A few companies made these.. Nice job picking it.

  3. great show bill, thanks. hey I sent you a box of locks supposed to be there today. did it make it. USPS. love the show. watched em all. some more then once.
