My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. I ordered the rekey tool set for this lock it comes with a curved wire to hold pins, a hollow core that holds drivers and springs and a shove tool to shove the pins in place a hollow brass cover tube. when it comes next week I will make a video.

  2. I was just about to send some pictures of an Almont rekey lock but it would be just like yours except I figured out how to put the lock together without the pins and I guess one of the springs got jambed inside and now I have a paper weight. picked another lock and ruined it! No expertise here . Smokey

  3. I got the core out I want to change the top pins to security pins. problem is there is only 1 hole to access the top pins it's blocked in the back the springs are sticking out how do I get new pins in there without that cut out tool that rotates and covers each new pin inside??

  4. Bill seen a guy repin a lock using a skinny straw with scotch tape on it. he picked up each pin with the sticky tape on the end of the straw and they went in fast.

  5. I have two of these, one exploded when I picked it last. the plug fell out shackle popped out spring bearing everything. I can't get it back together. it's still in the bottom of my lunch box.

  6. I knew it was coming but your reaction to doing it a second time made me laugh so hard I have had to watch this video three times.
I know just how annoying it can be at the time, but then funny afterwards when you think back to moments like this.

  7. Trust me, even if you have the genuine Almont pin loader it is still a royal pain in the ass to do! I had a problem with when was the proper time to reinsert the shackle and the ball on the spring side of the shackle. I truly appreciate the Abus and other padlocks that use a standard cylinder!

  8. Just a curious question. When you are wrapping up, and getting ready to pull the pin retainer / music wire / paper clip out of the slot….why didn't you just turn the core first and then pull the pin retainer? Is that possible? Thanks for the extra entertainment value on this video though! loved the captioning!

  9. The perfect example of a "mess-up" video being much more instructional than the "clean" kind of video. Reminds me of Edison and his lightbulb :)

  10. That was awesome…I'm on the job right now trying right now to remember how I did those locks and now I remember (been about 3 yrs since I rekeyed this house) . Thanks for the reminder about the top pins. I think last time I was so mad I threw away any tools I made for them…take care
