My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. Jim,
I do. I still make some of my specialized picks but have grown to depend on the Petersons. I really like the 0.015" ones with the blue handles but they do bend if I get too aggressive. Besides, when I break a hand made pick I feel BAD… but with the Petersons so cheap when I break one it doesn't bother me at all.

  2. Did you find any security pins in it? There were 2 of these laying around at work and look like they were outside for quite awhile. It took me a long time (several attempts of several days) yes, I'm a rookie to open it. A typical Masterlock isn't that hard for me. What I discovered was I probably picked the lock many times but there is strong spring tension keeping the plug in place. I just needed to apply more tension to open it. I didn't seem to think there were any security pins in this.

  3. what is amazing is that you were able to spot a lock in a ditch while riding down a trail with no hands on your bike picking a 6 pin medeco… 🙂

  4. this is why I never ordered any te's…I do wish Peterson would put a mark or something to be able to tell the differences in thickness in a low light or dark environment.

  5. Ill take one ill take one…. those Master lock pro series are about my skills level… i have openwed one before and would love to try another one…. BTW great picking…most of my great finds are at yard sales… not free but often pretty cool….

  6. No way! Silicone spray is for professionals! Us bottom feeders have to use WD40. No Randall, I don't have the patience or skills to be a locksmith. I can pick, but that's about it. Locksmithing requires a LOT more than that. Besides, I'm pretty happy with my current job. bill.

  7. best think you can use for locks is Silicone spray. I'm a locksmith and I've lost our work truck lock by placing it on the bumper as well…. Damnit! Anyways, I love watching your videos. You ever put any thought in to becoming a locksmith?

  8. Nope, mine is a Peterson Pry bar. I filed those stupid grooves in it to highlight the ONLY difference between Peterson and Tech Entry. So, now you are saying the TEs are made from inferior metal as well? Then WHY do they cost 4 time as much as the Petersons?
