(107) Review: Majestic “High Tech Wiggler Rakes”

LockLab is Fan funded!  Help pay for stuff to review, break and talk trash about, and maybe even give away when we’re done.  Join the Tribe!

My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. shocked that the majestic case is still 100% the SAME except the zipper is plastic now not metal.. i bought some majestic picks when i was uhh close enough to 18 for fun.. and that was 20 years ago now.. case and pick quality and handle style all is 100% the same still.. interesting..
the picks (for my uses) have served me well, and just teaching myself over the years i have opened masters (easily) to schlage deadbolt locks.. to some older 1960 style footlocker locks..

  2. Those majestic picks are not made for raking they are rocker picks take a dead bolt key you will find one of those picks will match perfect try that 32 coms covers most key shapes

  3. buddy thats twice now youv complained about the shitty products youv been coned into buying all together thats a hundred pounds and thats two hundred and fifty canadian dollars why dont you just watch a video on how to make your own tools man for ten cents i could make you a set of paperclip lockpicks thatl work on 70 percent of all locks why dont you just not complain and post them on EBAY or kijiji theres people thatl pay money for something i  could copy in my basement im realizing im in the wrong profesion i should be in the building of lockmith tools you should see the electric battery operated rechargeable lockpicking tool i made the other day it opens almost any lock in seconds if you want ill sell it to you for a one time only offer i only want a million dollars thats all ill sell you my machine and the idea patent pending lol

  4. Have a set of these, they do need a delicate touch!! Have had quite a few results with them. But for the money you pay I did expect better quality. Live n learn I suppose.

  5. Kirk, sorry you had to waste your money too! I'm making an effort to be the Locksport community's "consumer Reports". Already, two mfgrs have contacted me to test their products and post my results. Of course, crap products may not want an honest review… We'll see.

  6. I'm werkin' on it. I did give a good review to the Falle-Safe picks and the Souber tools… They worked for me.
I have another pickset I tested – a pre-release dealer sample – and it is great! As soon as they decide on a final release date I can upload it.

  7. You are now required to review something that doesn't suck. Besides the ace key cutter.

I have had nothing but bad luck with Majestic. I see that the quality of their steel and heat treatment has not improved. Computer-generated picks made with 12th-century metallurgy. FAIL. 😀

  8. I have a set of these also, i got them for the "entertainment value" I didn't know what to expect when they arrived, and i think i only ever opened one lock with them.
They have sat in the tool kit for years untouched.
    Great review…

  9. Cheers for that Bill. I dont ever have a lot of money to spend but a set of those were on my want at some point list, and thanks to your great review they are no longer on that list. Thanks again for your honesty my friend :o)))))

  10. I paid for a set, but never received them. This was a private sale so there ain't shit I can do about it. They do intrigue the hell out of me though. I still want a set too. I have a homebred set of the hpc compu picks. They work on locks that I can't get into using normal avenues. It's not always the tools, but how we use them.
If anyone has a set they'd like to get rid of for cheap let me know. Peace n' Tanx

  11. people wanna hear the real deal, no sugar coated bullshit, majestic make alright lock picks, i guess these 'high tech' tools are too high tech for now! 🙂

  12. I bought a set of these ages ago, on top of shipping I also had to pay VAT so they worked out nearly 50 quid! Put hours into them, got fuck all open that I couldn't open with normal picks. Some were bent when they arrived and the handles were badly riveted. The idea of these is to match the bitting more or less exactly through gentle rocking + trial and error, but they just don't do the job. I even matched picks to existing keys and still couldn't open the locks. Good idea, shitty practicality.

  13. Thanks Ash! I always worry when reviewing a product because there's always SOMEBODY out there that loves the product. MORE worrisome is that the manufacturer (using another screen name) bashes you and leaves negative feedback or something. Anyway, I call'em as I see'em – good and bad.
