My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. Great picking Bill. Ive not gutted a lock yet so once I do, all hell will break loose in my kitchen with bits flying everywhere. Lol!!

  2. I certainly agree about those key pins. I'm not sure what double pointy-ended pins are for, since any true normal or security pin has sharp edges and shoulders to make it harder to feel when picking.

  3. NONE of that was my intent. If you took it that way I sincerely apologize. I was VERY surprised when it popped open, especially since it wasn't giving any indication of false set or hint of being ready to open. In hindsight, I probably should have tried it again BEFORE screwing up the gutting. Sometimes you get lucky and, after looking at the guts, that is likely the case. I'll reassemble it tomorrow and have another go. The keypins do seem like they'd make it easier to reach shear tho.

  4. I'm torn between 2 and 4 😉
