My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. hi bill, im a long time subscriber just getting into locksport, ive just uploaded a video of me picking my old master 40mm (no other indication of series on lock) and im looking for some easy locks to hone my skills. so if you would be able to send me some locks you have lying around, and i will definitely be willing to send locks to you as my collection grows.

  2. In Africa, ANYTHING is possible. Having said that, EVERYTHING in Africa is decided on price, and price alone. It is the ideal dumping ground for low quality, cheap products. There seems to be little, if any demand for high end products because 99% of the population is dirt poor.

  3. Nothing like picking your way through a foreign country. You mentioned this lock was seen all over the airport located in high security areas. Is it possible you picked up some kind of illegal knock off? Reason i ask is some countries copy other brands and illegally use the logos and such to make you think you are buying the real deal for cheap but in fact its just a junk item. Nice job on it either way

  4. Absolutely! I'd love to do that. Is there a way you could get me your email address? You could send me a private mail through youtube or something like that?

  5. Robert,
You are absolutely right about the shape being totally unrelated to security, but I've been working on a twin combi for a while and the shape reminded me of it. In fact, I have several of them that constantly taunt me from the "unpicked" box in the lab… Someday… How about your Hungarian locks? Anything interesting there? I'd LOVE to trade you some US high security locks for some Hungarian ones if you are interested. bill

  6. I think the oval shape is not connected to the pick-security level. It's just the standard cylinder shape in come countries ( primary Scandinavian countries). And assa happens to come from Sweden.
