My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. easiest locks to pick, I pick them using hairpins….should really try my best to invest in some good picks and key extractors though.

  2. I remember my family selling those when I was a chil d decades ago.  Good to see that they've greatly improved the quality since then.   We always had shelves of locks that didn't pass quality control from the distributor(?), and we would repair/modify them to sell on. (Cut open, repinned using threaded rod, soldered/welded(?) shut, etc.; cut again to insert/replace cooked spring, or to clear pin; repeat until sold or lock body crumbles).

We would sell them modified or 'as is', but the keyways were so sloppy I accidentally discovered that even the modified locks would open with almost any low cut key, because you had to jiggle the key around so violently while turning to open them.

We informed our customers and tried to eat the cost to replace them with some better quality locks, but apparently a few customers were actually looking for bait locks that would break picks and other tools. They were very vocal that the more expensive (to us) smooth operating reliable locks operated by a specific key was the opposite of what they wanted. And when someone sarcastically suggested using the defective locks that could not be reliably operated by any key, that shelf was cleared out for the only time in my memory.   I don't recall us selling Globe brand after that.

  3. I had 1 of these years ago in my last collection the design and keys where identical all except the name was victory instead of globe been trying to find another recently but had no luck yet

  4. I thought to myself 'I haven't seen a video from bosnanbill in a while.' Apparently I got unsubscribed from your channel somehow. Anyhoo, I've got some catching up to do. Good stuff, Bill.
