LockLab is Fan funded!  Help pay for stuff to review, break and talk trash about, and maybe even give away when we’re done.  Join the Tribe!

My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. I don't have a lot of money. so buying locks to practice with is limited. I'm asking if you could help and maybe send a 7 pin tubular lock or any lock for me to get better at picking. That you! Marry Xmas.Ps. love your vids!

  2. Not Almonte, just Almont.  (It is a town in Michigan)  These are actually easy to key up if you have the proper tools.  With that said every locksmith I know has either learned the hard way what happens if you either use the wrong tool or otherwise make an error.  I have seen lots of these sitting in a bin box brand new in pieces due to the frustration.  To those of us that have mastered them they are a joy to service and in service are virtually bullet proof.  The Abus has pretty much taken it's place but an Almont would outlast these at least 5 to 1.

You could, if picking was an issue take steps to make then very tough to pick.  No bypass will work for these.

  3. Kerpeesh's picks are about 0.025" thick, which won't fit into really tight keyways like the Gege, Yale, Ruko or others that I had lying around. Those need a 0.015" thick blade.

  4. Great job, as per usual! I do like the shine "Kerpeesh" gets on those picks! If nobodies name is on that lock??? Feel free to chalk mine on?
    Peace n Tanks

  5. I'll bet you do since it was YOUR lock. I STILL have nightmares about the day I made video #127… Man, did I ever screw THAT up. Funny now though, huh?
