(410) TheCaveman1966’s D-12 Pick WORKS!!

LockLab is Fan funded!  Help pay for stuff to review, break and talk trash about, and maybe even give away when we’re done.  Join the Tribe!

My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

As I mentioned to you before, locks that are vulnerable to the comb attack are few and far between.  The comb tool is an antique – I have never successfully used it in the "real world".  I looked through my locks lying around the lab (several hundred) and not a single lock is vulnerable to the comb attack.  Perhaps if you find a lock made in the 30s or 40s, it MIGHT work.  I heard one of the older Abus padlocks was vulnerable, but don;t remember the model because picking is much easier than fiddling around with 5-6 comb picks.

  2. Well, all i can say is that I really like mine and use them often. They don't work every time, or even HALF the time – but they give me another opening option to fall back on when everything else fails.

  3. I wonder if that pick might help a picker with other locks too. It's a great idea using the 90 degree angle so you are sure not to nudge the pin in front of the one your working on.

  4. There you go bill you got your own now 😉 Mine had the same coffin which seems to be made especially for the particular pick. Ruko padlocks are tough to get into! TheCaveman1966 rocks!!!
