My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. the set screw is 6-32 not 6/32. the 6 denotes the diameter and 32 is the threads per inch. tap magic might have changed since I was tool making, but the original formula was caustic and would eat aluminum.

  2. Thanks for the video Bill I just want to point out that just because a label says it is made in China should not automatically imply it is junk. The design is sent to the lowest bid contractor to produce the product. Do you think the manufacturer will deviate from the specifications required? It is amazing they even manage to produce a functioning product like this with the margins they work with. There is a reason why so many contracts are given to China rather than another low wage country. Thanks for reading my rant. Here is a potato (O)

  3. OK , hold the bus there Martha ,truth be told Bill  you where trying to make a challenge lock out  of the two best locks you had . but trying to use a blender to blend the best of two locks Bill ?

  4. Man — a guy can never have enough taps 🙂  I am a recent lathe/milling machine owner and it is a transcendental experience (kinda like picking locks).  Thanks Bill  for your great videos.

  5. Just goes to show-invest a few thousand dollars on training and workshop items and you can save enough money on household appliances to upgrade your private jet AGAIN! No money to be made in lockpicking indeed.
