(276) Anti-Disturbance Alarm Lock with Smiley Keyway

My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. How thick is that face plate? maybe you could use an S shaped hook, hook one side under the plate and push it with your finger to tension it. I'm imagining something the same thickness as a fishing hook.

  2. it would be awesome to mess with your friends with this lock. Wait til you and your friend  are out somewhere, lock the lock to their belt loop and throw the key where they cant get it!

  3. Hi Bill, I had a few thoughts about your video camera focus.
One is switch the focus off and manually get the picture sharp for just the distance to the lock and the vice. With good strong lighting, it will select a smaller aperture and give more depth of field.
Second possibility, is that you have selected the wrong auto focus, that the camera is evaluating everything in its field of vision and it prefers the back ground, which for a normal user, is probably right!
Try selecting a spot focus instead, say in the middle of the field of vision and use that point for all your work.
    I hope this helps further.
By the way, your intro videos are fantastic, what software do you use if I may ask?
I love ALL your videos, required watching for me personally….

  4. I was wondering if instead of putting the tension wrench in the keyway, you could use a dab of superglue (or even solder) to attach a wrench to the front. You've got so much clear space up there, it seems like you could exploit it.

  5. master locks are too easy. but i have a way to make one impossible to open with picking, not shimming. the same way i used with 4 other door locks. all are pick proof and bump proof.

  6. Some kind of tape over the speaker? And the front of the lock looks like a cover, little bit flimsy? It may only looks that way but can't you bend the front of this lock making more space for picking?
