My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. I have a few Brinks locks that I bought to learn how to pick spools. My latest is a 50mm "commercial" Brinks laminated padlock from Walmart. The packaging said it had 5 pins, but I can only count 4, and it uses an M1 key which I suspect is just a Masterlock type of key. Haven't seen this model of lock anywhere aside from Walmart – "Walmart special", perhaps? The very first time I tried to SPP it, I had it open in something like 10 seconds. I call it my "feel good" lock now….as it always makes me giggle at how easily I can get it open, despite the spools.

  2. Great picking again Bill. I am glad David asked the question regarding your camera as I am after another to do videos as mine does not zoom or auto focus after clicking record hence reason I do not gut on camera and just add photos after gutting off camera.

  3. Great picking Bill. When i was just starting i purchased a couple of these Brinks padlocks, they really did help out alot on getting used to picking security pins. Spools and serrated pins are what i mostly found in these locks. Good locks for beginners wanting to step it up.

  4. I got one of these locks for free the other day. A Wal-Mart employee was outside cleaning around the propane tank cages and was about to cut the lock off of a chain b/c he didn't have the key.

I asked him if I could have it if I picked it. He agreed so it took be about 5 minutes to pick it. I used a bogota to get a false set, then finished it with a short hook. He was impressed. It's always fun to show off to people who know nothing about locks or lock picking. Hopefully he'll become interested enough to start lock picking himself.
