(156) U.S. Post Office Box (Lori) Picked Open

My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. A friend gave me one of these built into a nice hardwood box, with a bunch of padlocks inside to pick, but he lost the key. This one is a Yale, but neither of us have had any luck on it yet.

  2. Dennis, sorry but I gave these away to other lock pickers AGES ago. I never removed the cylinder & have no idea how it comes out. Anybody else out there know how to do this?

  3. Can you tell/show me how to take the cylinder out of this lock? I have some shims and have heard I need to have a blank key. The box you have is a 1910 Yale Wagon Wheel Door. I have several of these locks and taking them to a locksmith is out of sight! Thanks.

  4. Sounds fantastic! As I've mentioned, I myself have a good ways to go before I'm actually consistant with them… so your compilation of steps could very well help me as well! And I'm certain alot of other people would love to see it.

  5. A boot in the ass is exactly what I need. With your email, the first step of my journey begins. I'm going to take video snippets of each "step" and save them. At some point, assuming success, I'll compile them all and post the entire, sequenced journey. Thanks buddy, I needed someone to prod me with a sharp stick. Difficult journeys are always easy to put off.

  6. As always, you're all too kind. Our relationship in terms of 'lock exchange' is getting a bit lop-sided though. lol. Maybe I could send you a couple Medecos in return? Help give ya a little boot in the ass to get started on your 'rotational journey' …haha! But yeah, I'd certainly be interested. I probably have nothing like it, so no picture would be neccessary. I only have one at this point (as seen in my "Post Office Doors" video). So unless it's like those… I don't have it.

  7. Nice classic mate! I have also seen those on Ebay and always wondered what these are for 🙂 I have seen some people making wooden boxes for those doors.

  8. Neat. From time to time… I'm tempted to get more of the mailbox doors that have combination locks on them (just cause they're fun 🙂 But I haven't been purchasing a whole lot lately. Always good to see what you're up to friend.

  9. You mean "unparalleled LUCK" pf bill…because that's what it took to open it that fast. Its funny – yesterday I couldn't open a lock to save my life. Today, this was the first one I touched and it FLEW open. Luck. Karma. The Force. Whatever – as long as they keep coming open.
