(320) Vachette x 3 = Caca x 3

LockLab is Fan funded!  Help pay for stuff to review, break and talk trash about, and maybe even give away when we’re done.  Join the Tribe!

My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. You must have gotten unlucky with the Vachettes you've found bill, they make some extremely secure locks, you should try and get your hands on an AXI Home, though I suspect most of its security comes from the difficulty in finding tension rather than the pinning itself

  2. EASY Jim! Had I known how upset you'd get with the gentle, easygoing Chinese lock makers I'd never have made the video… Oh, yes I would.

  3. as a curiosity, on some of these locks they almost look shimmable in a sense. Insert a thin foil to help separate pins on shearline while spp'ing them front to back – ever tried something like that?

  4. Billy,
Yes, I got your message when I got home from my African trip last night. I'm sorry Billy, but I don't have any extra pick sets lying around – I only have one and use it all them time. You can buy them quite cheaply from the Internet – some sets are as cheap as $20. If I had a big corporate sponsor I'd be glad to help but, sadly, I don't. I'm just a normal guy with a hobby, just like you.

  5. Wow Bill, I was in the garden alot this week, but I think you just out raked me.OK that was sad…..anyway hope your enjoying the trip! if you need some extra employees for your vast worldwide lock lab empire….im in!

  6. No, it is an "a". There IS, however, another Chinese knockoff spelled with an "o". I think I did another video withc comparing the two…they are ALL caca, a, o,, whatever.

  7. Hi Bill, I can confirm that caca means shit en français (in French)! But may I correct some of your conclusions on Vachette locks? First, I own several ones, bought from an official Vachette dealer : some of them have "vachette" engraved in lower caps, some of them in upper caps, and on the rest of them only the 1st letter is upper cap. Then, apart from the first price models, all vachette locks have security pins. I can send them to you if you want. So long and thanks for all the fish !
