  1. Do I get better feedback (sound/feel) from a lock that is clamped ? I have a ton of mortise cylinders in the shop and I am hit or miss with picking them in hand ….. Thank bill

  2. I like the lock I got off a guy on ebay who mills them himself.  Not only can I see the pins to understand what's going on but they have caps on so I can easily change the pins to whatever I want to practice.  It's 6 pins, I've taken out 3 to practice on just 3 pins as I'm totally new 🙂  it's good.

  3. I got it!!! After seeing bill get it open I kept at it. Picked it 3 times tonight! What a feeling when a lock you have been struggling with finely pops open! As Bill says ….boys it never gets old! Does anyone know any info on this lock? How old is it etc? Thanks

  4. This doesnt have anything to do with the current video, I apologize. I'm wondering if you ever do any vehicle unlocks? Do jiggler keys work or are they a waste of money? Thanks

  5. Hey Bill, you did a video on a master lock not too long ago. It had a red plastic body. Well I've acquired a couple locks simialr. The biggest difference with mine is that it has a steel body and a removable core. I also got my hands on a Yale padlock that was issued to a friends grandpa in Vietnam for what we believe would be for his footlocker. Yale locks are a bit out of my league at this time and was wondering if you would be interested in it.
I kinda feel like it would just sit in my lock porn bucket for far too long.

  6. I can't tell you how many times I've been working on a new vintage lock (new to me) only to find that you've posted a video picking the same lock 2 days before.
This lock is a tough little lock considering.  It really surprised me how long it took to pick it.  I did the same thing you did to deal with the keyway.  Actually, I'm designing an "insert" to use rather than an entire tensioner.

  7. Im new to picking but I do enjoy all your tutorials, I was wondering if anyone had put together a jargon buster, some of it (most) has me scratching my head. anyway thanks again for another great wee video.

  8. I really interested in lock picking. I looking to buy some picks to start learning. can you recommend good start set. the internet is a minefield. Are the training locks any good?

  9. Bill I have exact same lock I have been working on for a month! I can get into a DEEP false set but then I get stuck! Oh well now I see it can be done I'll just have to keep at it!
