(277) CES Euro Cylinder Picked Open

LockLab is Fan funded!  Help pay for stuff to review, break and talk trash about, and maybe even give away when we’re done.  Join the Tribe!

My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. Belle ouverture sur un cylindre qui ne renvoie pas beaucoup d'information !

Beautiful opening a cylinder that does not return a lot of information!

  2. Nice man.

Note that the S in MACS is "specification" — i.e., the manufacturer's specification. They can design the lock such that the MACS is quite high (Medeco and ASSA, for example). Any more discussion requires trigonometry which will just put everyone to sleep 😀

  3. MACS = Maximum Adjacent Cut Specification. It is a set of "rules" that prevent wide variations in bitting & is designed to ensure a smooth working key & lock. Many people deviate from the MACS to make a lock harder to pick (high-low-high-low). For lockpickers – we generally ignore the MACS to screw with each other…
